The Founder transforms all the websites of the Journal (with the content of the articles in archive) and provides an accessible and relevant page on the University's website with the main information about the Journal, its policy, aims, editorial board, editorial ethics, editorial procedure and hyperlink to the Publisher's website, and the Publisher adapts all information about the Journal to its own policies and procedures.

The "Economics of Development" Scientific Journal Author Toolbox

 

The journal "Economics of Development" complies with the basic ethical requirements for scientific publication of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We request to the authors and reviewers to read the documents and the principles of COPE. Compliance with the appropriate level of ethics in publications is declared on the journal policy, which contains aspects of the Editorial Board ethical behavior. In addition, to reduce the possibility of the abuse of office, the aspects of reviewers’ ethical behavior are reflected in the "Regulations on articles reviewing".


The journal "Economics of Development" applies a strict procedure of the articles review. To obtain the positive review we suggest to familiarize with the "Regulations on articles reviewing" and recommended for reviewers checklist, which is based on a generalization of existing approaches to the review process (ReviewQualityInstrument) and the requirements of COPE.


The authors should focus on the "
Rules for the articles and scientific abstracts preparation for publication", which describe a recommended papers framework and the requirements for their basic parts. Every author who applies an article to the scientific journal "Economics of Development" should comprehends the ethical principles in publications. The Editorial Board verifies the fulfillment of the authors’ ethical obligations, which are related to the methodology of scientific research. The main authors’ ethical obligations include:

- Released in the article results of research must be up-to-day and comply with the goals and standards of research ethics. The author should clearly highlight the relevance of the research and provide an accurate report of the obtained results;
- It is necessary to indicate the contribution of each author in the publication. Herewith the author is the person who made certain independent intellectual contribution to the presented to the press research (if you can not prove a person involved in any phase of the research, the fact of authorship is not confirmed);
- The author is responsible for including to the author list only persons who meet the criteria for authorship;
- The author is responsible for the articles content and the fact of their publication, but not the edition or involved in the evaluation of the article quality reviewer. If there are a several authors each of them is responsible for the contents of the article;
- In the case of biased citation and the violation the authors of the scientific ethics norms, the journal politics provides the possibility of withdrawal has already published an article with the obligatory notification of the fact that the author has been withheld;
- Structure of the article must comply with the objectives of the research, which determine the correctness of the chosen methods of scientific research;
- An invalid value is used as the adulteration of the article data and information (ranging from incomplete disclosure of findings to fake the results) and plagiarism (defined as the appropriation of ideas or words without reference to the source of the information or present them as their own achievements);
- The author should consider the possibility of random and systematic errors, as well as all the risks associated with revealed the results of the study;
- The article is obligatory citation of publications that have influenced the nature of the work, or reveal the evolution of the author's thoughts and acquaint the reader with the previous author's works;
- The obligation of the author to present the results of a bibliographic search to minimize the requirement of balanced citation of works which are not directly related to the contents of the article;
- Each article must have a complete character, even if it is part of a large study. This reduces or eliminates completely the fragmentation of the material;

The author should not submit manuscripts describing essentially the same results in more than one magazine. When fed an expanded version of previously announced the results should provide a link to the previously published materials and to inform the editorial board (no need to publish results that are already known and need no further confirmation);

- To avoid accusations of plagiarism author should clearly indicate all information sources used (except for the well-known information);
- Authors should inform the editor of any potential conflict of interest;
- In the first place in the list of authors should be the person who made a decisive contribution to the planning, organizing and conducting the study, which became the basis of a scientific article.

Article accepted for publication only after confirmation of compliance with these principles, the author and ethical obligations in its preparation. To fix this fact provides the corresponding fields in the form of information about the author.


And to increase the probability of accepting articles for publication the authors are invited to consider the following recommendations for the preparation of the individual elements of article:


The title The title of the article should be concise and informative. Besides, it should highlight the article relevance and its scientific and practical value.
The annotation As the annotation defines the article interest, it must be not only qualitative but also one that may interest the reader. Annotation should not be descriptive. It should contain the case studies, highlighted in the article. It is important that the annotation act as an independent source of information. The purpose of the annotation is its representation as a reference tool, which allows the reader to determine the familiarize suitability of the article. Therefore, the annotation should contain only provided in the article information. Its structure must be similar to peer-reviewed article. It is recommended to specify in the abstract the object and the purpose of the research, and the used tools and methods. It is also necessary make the summary on directions and possibilities of application the results. The quality of the abstract is determined by the ability of information usage and citation the authors. Abstract, should be informative and original (should not contain common words), meaningful and structured (should reflect in succession the article content).
Keywords Keywords should accurately describe the research. It is desirable to use well-known and relevant keywords. The quality of their selection will determine the number of readers, who can find the article and read it. It is advisable to choose 5 or 6 words, which are not a new terms (otherwise, the potential reader would not know how to find the article). It is necessary to reflect in the article all keywords and use them in the annotation and author summary.
Citation Each article should be based on a certain researches that the author used to summarize the application domain. It is necessary to ensure the proper level of citation objectivity. It is possible to do this by links to a scientometric database, which the author used in the analysis of article problems.
